Once again – I need help. I can’t read Japanese and not 100% sure the title is correct and this links to a right IMDb profile. If you can read the poster and/or more familiar with Nikkatsu legacy then myself – pls comment/confirm this.
Thanks!

I can read japanese a little. That’s exactly what writes on the poster. So it’s correct
Right translation and director, wrong IMDb title. This is a poster for SHINSHÛ SHIKOSHIKO BUSHI: ONSEN GEISHA VS. OZASHIKI SUTORIPPÂ, or, roughly, A YUMMY SHINSHÛ BALLAD: HOT SPRING GEISHA VS. ZASHIKI STRIPPER. Some remarks: “shikoshiko” is a word that refers to the right consistency of noodles (something like “al dente”); a “hot spring geisha” is a geisha who works at bathhouses; and a “zashiki stripper” (the “o” in “ozashiki” is just a “dignifying” prefix, usually translated in the West as “honourable”)would perform table dances in zashikis, or rooms with tatami-covered floors, for selected guests. Director Nobuaki SHIRAI is referred to in Japanese publications as Shinmei SHIRAI, as his name can be read both ways. The featured cast, as per the poster, includes the following (family names given in capitals to avoid confusion): Reiko AKITSU, Naomi OKA, Kyôko TAKARA, Alice ZENI, Akira TAKAHASHI, Kazu TANIMOTO, Ichirô KIJIMA, Kenji SHIMAMURA, Midori MORI. It was released in 1975.
Thank you very much Mitchell!
